The Purdue Small Farm Education Field Day on July 23, co-hosted by the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture and the Purdue Student Farm, will offer hands-on demonstrations and presentations for small farm operators and urban growers.
Attendees will learn from Purdue University and Purdue Extension experts about topics including flower production, high tunnel production and management, integrated pest management, food safety and vertical container farming.
This field day serves as a gathering place where small farm operators and urban growers from across Indiana come to learn and connect. The day’s structure fosters the exchange of practical knowledge and the development of meaningful relationships. Year after year, we see participants return home and put new techniques to work on their own farms and gardens. It’s often the smaller, nuanced practices, the kind of details that are easy to overlook, that make the biggest difference in the productivity and long-term sustainability of small-scale agricultural operations.
Attendee registration costs $48 and can be completed here. Lunch will be provided by Great Harvest.
